Things you need to know prior to booking
What are the minimum requirements?
We have a minimum booking requirement of 5 x bell tents for at the very least a 2-night stay. All the prices quoted on our website are based on a 2-night stay. Should you only require 1-night that's not an issue but the price will remain the same. Should you wish to hire the bells for a longer period, each additional night is charged at 50% of the 2-night price.
What areas do you cover?
Predominantly East and West Sussex, Kent and Surrey.
Is there a delivery fee?
We deliver free of charge within a 20-mile radius. Any location outside of this is charged at £1.25 per mile past the first 20 miles.
How many people can a tent accommodate?
Four people maximum. We provide both double and single camp beds so each bell can accommodate a maximum of either 2 x doubles, 4 x singles or 1 x double and 2 x singles. If you less, that's fine, just let us know.
How much are the tents?
They start from £145 (if taken as part of our group package offer) for a 2-night hire - set up Friday, take down on Sundays. We do not offer 1-night pricing, 2 nights is the minimum.
Is there a holding and damages deposit required?
Yes, to reserve your date and the number of tents your require (as we get booked up quite far in advance), we ask for £250 for 5-10 tents or £500 for 11-20 tents. This deposit also serves as cover against any damage to your or your guests' tents and is returned to you within 7 days of your event.
How soon do I need to book?
We are currently taking bookings for 2021 and 2022. It is really important, if you wish to secure your date, that you let us know as soon as possible if you wish to proceed. We don't want you to feel like we are giving you 'the hard sell' but equally, we want to avoid disappointment if your date gets booked.
What if I need to make changes to my booking?
What type of ground is required to erect a bell tent?
Any tent needs to be fastened to the ground via pegs to ensure it stays secure and safe therefore we can only pitch on grass or bare soil.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
You can check-in from 3.00pm and check-out after the last night is at 11.00am the following morning.
We have booked your tents, are on-site and have an emergency - what do we do?
Our emails are checked frequently so please contact us this way or leave a message on 07526 069405 with your name, telephone number and a brief description of the issue and we'll come back to you as soon as possible to resolve.
Do you provide power or toilet/washing facilities?
No, we just provide our tents. Should you require power to your tents or any other facilities, please discuss this with your chosen venue or third party supplier.
What do we do if it rains?
This shouldn't put a dampener on your celebrations but here are some points to be mindful of in wet weather:
The tents are sold to us from the manufacturer as 'waterproof' and are re-proofed at the end of each season, however we have noticed over the years a couple of things in the design of all bell tents that can effect this, you won't get flooded by any means, but we feel we need to advise you accordingly.
Our tents are cotton canvas, they are not plastic/polyester like other tents, this is part of their appeal and probably the reason you chose to have them at your event BUT this does mean that very occasionally, if completely saturated or in torrential rain for long periods, a small amount of water may sneak in. This is only ever a very small amount at the points where the frame meets the tents and/or the centre pole stretches the top of the canvas.
If camp beds, bedding or personal belongings are pressed up hard against the canvas, this MAY cause a weak point for water to seep through. Your camp beds, if they are included in your package, may be pushed slightly closer together for this reason.
Windows and doors are obviously a 'hole' in your bell tent. if not secured or closed properly, the inevitable will happen! Please make sure they are closed over night and on check out.
Please don't let this dishearten you, we have set up lots of tents in the rain and water ingress is a rare occurrence and should not affect your stay.
